Bail Bonds, Bail Agents in Van Nuys, California
The City of Van Nuys was named after Isaac Van Nuys, an investor of Dutch heritage and partner in a large ranching venture known as the San Fernando Homestead Association He is also known for building the first wood framed house in the San Fernando Valley in 1872.
Another interesting bit of trivia about Van Nuys is that over 100 years ago at the end of 1903, Orville and Wilbur Wright historically created the first aircraft to actually fly for an extended period of time called the “Wright Flyer” in the city of Van Nuys. This helped launch the modern era of aviation, and 25 years later Southern California saw the development of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Van Nuys Airport (VNY), which contributed to making Southern California a major part of the aviation and aerospace industries in the 20th century. Also, real estate started to boom in 1911 forming this once baron land into the city of Van Nuys.
Van Nuys Police Department & Jail Information
Van Nuys has come a long way since those early development days and today The Van Nuys Jail has one of the highest inmate populations for a city jail. They are always very busy processing several arrestees at one time, so be prepared for the release of your family member or friend taking longer than most other jails. The booking process typically takes about 4 to 6 hours from start to finish, and once a bail bond has been posted, the release process could take 1 to 2 hours, depending on the volume of new arrestees at the time.
We suggest parking in front of the library, and you will see signs directing you to the police department. A Premiere Bail Agent will meet you in the lobby and explain the process moving forward. Our agent will post the bond and wait with you in the lobby and be happy to answer any questions you may have at that time to help you understand the process in more detail. Inmates are released from the jail through a door off the lobby.
