Hawthorne Bail Bonds
Hawthorne Police Department & Jail Information
The Hawthorne Police Department was organized 89 years ago in 1922 with a history of service as a law enforcement innovator. When someone is arrested in Hawthorne, they are taken directly to the Hawthorne Police Department and Jail for booking, which is a process that could take several hours, depending on how busy they are at that time. The Jail has 72 cells, which consist of dormitory-type areas; two dorms are for male inmates, and one dorm for females. After two days, if they have not been bailed out, they are transferred to a larger jail. Misdemeanor offenders go to the Inglewood Jail, and felony offenders go to the LAX Airport Court facility, where the bail process could take as long as 24 hours or more. This is why starting the bail process early is critical when looking to have your loved one or friend released as soon as possible. Once we post a bail bond at the Hawthorne Jail, the inmate will be released within 15 – 30 minutes. There is a large lobby area open to the public, which is where inmates are released after we post a bond, and parking directly in front of the police station is recommended.

Hawthorne Jail - Work Release & Daily Trustee Programs
The "work release" program is for eligible defendants who pay a one-time $25 application fee, and $75 per day. Work release allows inmates to serve their jail time while performing community service at the jail facility in lieu of incarceration in a county jail facility. Typically, this program is restricted to defendants who have been convicted of non-violent misdemeanor charges. The “daily trustee” program, also allows for community service, but no housing is involved, so there is no charge for this program.
Hawthorne Jail – Inmate Visitation
The Hawthorne Jail allows only 15 minute visits with one adult and two children, maximum. Visiting hours are during one evening hour, from 7 pm – 8 pm, daily. Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and all visitors must present valid government-issued photo ID.
